This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got the infamous clicking today when I tried to start my '04 C2. Battery is a Durecell Procell purchases 4/13. Got a charger on it but my question is the dash lights (no curtesy light) are staying on while charging. Is this normal or just due to charging? Dash lights were also on prior to charging. Any & all thoughts on this appreciated.

Is the ignition key off and removed from the ignition switch?

POST 3Original post

If the key is out of the ignition, you should not have any dash lights (assuming you mean warning lights - ABS, PSM, etc.). If they're staying on with no key, may be time to replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Key is out, as always when car is parked. Dash lights that stay on, but only clock, odometer, & mph. Car just started up after 3 hour charge. Time for new battery I assume.

POST 5Original post

Maybe - but no lights remain on in my car when the key is out and the door is shut. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding what you mean. At any rate, glad the charge seems to be the culprit.

POST 6Original post

Mind stay on for a couple minutes, max. I'd they stay on all the time, something is weird.
