Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The practice I use when closing my engine lid is similar to what I use for closing the front trunk. I let it down fully, and then with the palm of my hand press down completing the the final latching process. When doing this, Ive noticed a distinct but not loud rattle. When driving, it sounds as though that same rattle is occurring. Are there rubber mounts that possibly need to be replaced or checked. Can it be tightened?

POST 2Original post

There are two rubber mounts that can be adjusted to fix your problem.

POST 3Original post

Adjusting the rubber bumpers solved my Aerokit deck rattle too.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I looked for the 2 rubber mounts this afternoon and didnt find them. I tightened everything I could but it didnt help resolve the rattle.

POST 5Original post

They are on the outboard ends of the lower lid. They have a spiral cut in the rubber that allows you to screw them in or out.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah, ok! I checked everything but those. Right in front of my eyes and I missed them. Thanks so much. Joe
