These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
I want to replace the window regulators in my 2002 C4S. Is this a DIY project or should I spend the $1000 and have my mechanic do it? Any video links out there? Many thanks!
Paying $1000 to have a mechanic do the job doesn't mean they won't screw it up. At least if I screw it up I can always back-track and rectify it. With someone else you'll always scratch your head chasing the chain wondering what went wrong and whether they fixed something but broke something else.
Follow the best instructions on line and you won’t cuss too much. A couple hours of research and the right tools/parts on-hand will make the diy about a 2.5 wrench out of 5.

Good call!! I'm about to do this on my 986. Also OP, go OEM parts. I did a lot of research and there was a fair amount of people who said the non-oem regulators would fail.
I have done this job twice first time took over 2 hours as I went slow and took a bunch of pictures along the way second time did it in a little over an hour. As mentioned mark window position with tape before removing glass also once you get glass in position disconnect your battery before you unplug side airbag then connect airbag after cable replacement before connecting battery if you don’t will throw an airbag code and a display on the dash.

I also have to do on 2002 C4S. Have part in hand. Above it says “
once you get glass in position disconnect your battery before you unplug side airbag then connect airbag after cable replacement before connecting battery if you don’t will throw an airbag code and a display on the dash.”
Wouldn’t you have to disconnect battery and air bag before removing door card, to even see where glass is attached to regulator? Any codes to reser after battery re-connect?

DIY!...Its an easy, albeit finicky job. Do your research first - theres tons of info online. Pelican has a good tutorial with photos. Put the cash you save into something else the car needs...
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays
Just looked at the invoice from my indy for regulator replacement including OEM parts. $551, billed for 2 hours. Im in central NJ. Ive had both window regulators replaced since acquiring low mileage 03 4s In early 2019.
