Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I did not get a read out of the over rev's or a read out of the codes but I did get an e-mail reply after my inquiry about them, the check list seemed pretty comprehensive.

I was a little disappointed in the thoroughness of the inspection but it could have been because the car was so clean with zero mechanical issues.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can anyone recommend a shop in Houston that is currently performing high quality PPI's? All the threads I've looked at recommend shops that do not service out of town buyers, have changed ownership ( with no new owner stats) or no longer perform them.
It would be good if the shop was on the north side for convenience or near the Woodlands.
Thanks
Car Techniks (

) did the PPI on my '02 C2 last summer and serviced my prior BMW 325i since 2008. They've been good to me so far. While they service all German vehicles, I drive by the shop everyday on the way to work and there's often Porsches being worked on, occasionally even a 959. I figure if a 959 owner trusts them, I've got nothing to worry about. They're near highway 249 and Spring-Cypress road in the very NW corner of Houston, roughly a 15-20 minute drive from The Woodlands. Give the owner Michael a call and see if he'll do an out of town inspection. Let me know if you'd like any help, I'm just down the road from the shop.
I recommend European Auto Techniks. It's located off of Rankin Road, at 1200 Spears Road Houston, TX 77067. Michael Cawley (hmm, are all recommended shop owners named Michael?) is a hands-on person with tons of Porsche experience. He did a PPI on my '02 cab.

Michael just performed a PPI for me yesterday. Very impressed at the level of detail.
Thanks to all for responding, I took the car to Car techniks and Michael was able to get me in pretty quick. The cost was $240 and took about 1.5 hrs. The seller was kind enough to take the car to the shop and wait so the time is accurate.
I was a little disappointed in the thoroughness of the inspection but it could have been because the car was so clean with zero mechanical issues. I did not get a read out of the over rev's or a read out of the codes but I did get an e-mail reply after my inquiry about them, the check list seemed pretty comprehensive. I received the checklist via e-mail but no follow up phone call.
I did purchase the car and will travel down to Houston to pick it up.
As far as European Auto Techniks I have heard nothing but good about them but when I talked to them they have stopped doing inspections for out of town buyers so that’s what prompted my search for an alternative.
Thanks again to everyone for the advice.
