Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Looks like a first gen iPhone lead to attach your phone and play through the stereo, depending on what phone you have you can probably use it , if not comparable with your phone there are adapter plugs available to change the fitting
Leading evidence: 'german word' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'german word' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace fitting' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

First I'm going to change the oil and transmission fluid to start to get the lay of the land.

The other end is connected to your radio with a USB and can easily be changed to a modern Lightening dock adaptor for newer iPhones, or micro-USB if you use an android mobile phone.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

996s will run rings around the air cooled cars while still having the driver engagement of an older car.
2000 996 C4, dark blue to my eye, but there's probably a German word for it . Be warned. It's definitely not exactly pristine if you know what I mean.
I am not much good when it comes to air cooled, I still think in analog, and so now there's a whole new challenge here. Anyhow, like my early cars, I never saw this one coming. It just kinda sprung on me, not so sensible but there it is. Sometimes sensible isn't that great. Sooooo, there's gonna be a lot of questions guys, (and gals), a lot of questions.
Well, thanks all for asking, it's a six speed. You gotta steer with one hand, guide the shifter with the other, have your way with the clutch using one foot while sometimes the other is braking and sneaking a little action with the accelerator.
I'm partial to the shifting thing. Old school.

ok. here's a question.
1. why do I like the lights when I'm supposed to cover them up and pretend they are round/oval? In fact I think I like the MK1 lights the best.
Well, some 911 folks call this a personality defect, but let me be the first to reassure you that there's nothing wrong with you. Liking 996 headlights never goes away, I'm afraid, but many of us live healthy, normal lives, regardless.
Could not agree more. I have a 02/98 production date C2 and think it is one of the most beautiful designs from Porsche (hat tip to Pinky!). Love the analog nature as well, last of the cable throttles, first of the water cooled.
Because they are cool. But the frickin P car snobs cant deal with them being a shared part with the lowly Boxster. Yet they never seem to realize they were also shared with the mighty GT1. 996s will run rings around the air cooled cars while still having the driver engagement of an older car. For me the 996/997 are the best of both worlds. Enjoy your new ride!
The photo of the wire in #5 is an original iPhone or iPad 30-pin dock adaptor. The other end is connected to your radio with a USB and can easily be changed to a modern Lightening dock adaptor for newer iPhones, or micro-USB if you use an android mobile phone. /X3

Yes, I was not so quick to recognize it. Obviously I was not alone. And now it's clear Porsche caved in to market forces. I think all of the round and oval headlights on the newer cars reflect that. They are uninteresting in comparison.
It's got a little play up and down along the axles that extend forward and backward from the shifter. Also some play in the pin that extends into the White block of plastic by the driver's side.
Okay. Got a nice set of these seats. Always wanted aliens but had to get the right car and first I am going to see what I can do to rehabilitate them a little bit.
