I lean a bit towards performance when replacing wear items and went with RSS mounts.

I used wevo mounts , it wasn't expensive and they should last 4x the oem ones .
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

From what I can tell there is no difference between stock oem and rein.
I don't see that this topic has been beaten to death so I feel safe posting.
Genuine Porsche or aftermarket? Rein seems to be pretty popular. No tracking, just a stock DD. Is there any difference in the mounts between the 996 and the 996TT? The part numbers seem to be the same. The repair looks to be pretty straight forward.
Thanks!
At 104k miles installed new Porsche engine mounts to replace stock ones that had dropped inch or so. Surprised still significant engine vibration especially just off idle, maybe need new trans mount also.
I did the RSS engine mounts and Function-First Tranny mount as well. I AGREE COMPLETELY.
Only thing I wish is that I went with the Street tranny insert rather than the track version.
Felt like there was a delay when accelerating before. Now it feels planted.
The problem with this is that since you went from worn OE mounts to new aftermarket ones, the comparison is not really valid. You would feel a significant difference if you just when with new OE mounts too.
Either will make a significant improvement over worn mounts. I lean a bit towards performance when replacing wear items and went with RSS mounts. Im very pleased with the decision - very slight added nvm at idle but rewarded with a huge improvement in how composed the car now is when weight shifts in the turns. Theyre also rather pretty. If you lean more towards comfort stick with oem.
Easiest fix I think to make a difference in your 996 Chassis. Just try to get bolts/nuts soaked if any rust shown before loosening.
OEM Mounts made my Targa w 39K mi. & 15 YO. feel like new, and Shifts are much better feel, especially when cold. There is a post w Pics.
