I know the cats are original and I have receipts for O2 sensors replacements (I'll check the invoice for which code was actually being read and fixed)

If your fuel trims on both sides are off, clean the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner as directed, then check them again....The stuff works..

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

CEL came on in my 996 the other day. Grabbed a code reader and it came back as P1123 which is a rich condition on bank 1, cyl 1-3. I've been searching around and there is just so many opinions and possible solutions out there my head is spinning. I'd like to actually troubleshoot this and find the root cause. Been about a decade since I've dealt with gas job emissions I've been driving diesels for that long. Most threads I see on this topic also reference P1125 which indicates the same condition on the other bank. Mine was only one code, P1123. Because it's on one bank, I can rule out the MAF. I know the cats are original and I have receipts for O2 sensors replacements (I'll check the invoice for which code was actually being read and fixed) The other topic I saw being discussed was high fuel pressure, I assume this means in just one rail? The final thing I saw was a leaky fuel injector. I don't have a rich/gasoline smell out of the exhaust but I guess that only counts for so much. Any insight is appreciated. G

Open your oil cap and smell. These injectors are old and due if original...

Check your fuel trims RKAT (TRA if 99-2000). your other Bank may be just barely be in range. If your fuel trims on both sides are off, clean the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner as directed, then check them again....The stuff works..

I don't think my 40$ eBay scanner can do any of that
