I don't know of any way to adjust caster on these cars without modifications.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust caster' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust caster' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Running 3rd gear up to about 4k, make sure the coast is clear of all things important; roll onto the throttle, shifting gears at 6grand and I'm in "go to jail" territory, before I'm out of 4th gear.

I regret not having my tire pressure's set high, when I got the alignment done.

The tech said that due to the roads crest, its preferred to have the higher caster on the left front, but the current setting shouldn't affect the car as is.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone. Today I'm going to swap out my old wobbly suspension, as it's very annoying and unsafe to drive. I'm curious if theres any
dos or don'ts
to this procedure, or helpful tricks? Following the suspension refresh, I have the car scheduled for an alignment. The shop I use, is very good and will align to any specs I specify. My question is do I let them put it "in the green" or what are the exact numbers I should have the car put to?
Thanks in advance.
OP - Alignment specs depend on what you want the car to do and what components you are using for your suspension. Numerous threads with lots of data and do/dont advice on the web. Elephant and Tarett are very good sources. They will give you some detailed pointers and suggestions if you ask. I agree you want the best information for you suspension settings...makes the car a bust or a blast.
Thanks. I've read some threads, but it seems most are detailing coilovers and lowered ride heights or ROW/GT3 specs. I just need good DD specs. I'm not sure what the factory specs are.
Before and after specs on my 99C2. My setup maximizes tire life, but to be honest, the car still handles very well, even on the track. I have no complaints, and I have racked up 16,000 miles on my Michelins and they still have lots of life left.
So after wrestling with the A arms, the new suspension is installed and the car has a fresh alignment. I'd like some feedback of the specs. The right front caster is out a few hundredths. I voiced my uneducated concerns to the tech/senior tech (shop owner) about the caster still being in the red. As my car routinely sees speeds over 130mph, a stable, predictable and safe car/alignment, are paramount.
after an explanation of the numbers, I was assured that these numbers are acceptable. The tech said that due to the roads crest, its preferred to have the higher caster on the left front, but the current setting shouldn't affect the car as is. The work is warranted for two weeks, and if I need an adjustment, theres no additional charge.
I was told that the car either has its caster maxed on that side, or there isn't any additional adjustment and that the other option would be to split the difference side to side. Alignment and mount/balance are the only things I take cars to shops for, (outside warranty work), so I'm unsure if this is smoke being blown or not. The shop is reputable and I've used them before when having a car set to a specific spec, with great results. Seeing red has me nervous though.
consensus?
thanks, for the link. I've seen that posted on just about every alignment thread in the archives. The problem I'm having is that I don't understand what that means or how it converts to what my car is aligned to. Any explanation or clarification, please?
Thanks. I didn't know that. does the rest of the numbers look "good"? I regret not having my tire pressure's set high, when I got the alignment done. My pressures are 36F 40R. Not sure if this negatively impacted the results. Overall, the car feels better, and the new struts/springs are much better (not to mention safer).
Here are my results from 4 years ago.....was also told by techs not to worry about the caster...not a big deal...4 years later and it has not made any "bad" difference on tire wear or handling.....this set up was done to maximize tire life for a daily driver

You're lucky you don't live in California. Anything over 100mph is considered reckless driving and has the same points as a DUI. I assume you're kidding about daily hitting 130mph but if not, bragging about it on a public forum probably won't help your inevitable court case.
I wasn't really kidding or bragging; just stating the reality of my travels. I dont sustain those type of speeds, but do see them daily. I'm usually cruising around 81-83, but there are a couple long & sweeping on ramps, that merge into long strait aways. At 4:45-5:00am these are very open as far as traffic is concerned. Running 3rd gear up to about 4k, make sure the coast is clear of all things important; roll onto the throttle, shifting gears at 6grand and I'm in "go to jail" territory, before I'm out of 4th gear. 5th into 6th and I'm right at 132mph or so, and only for about a 1/4 mile or so. I figure @$#-it, I've been in jail before and nearly killed when a semi T-boned me in my driver door, last October. I figure "@#!*-it"; jail or death really aren't that bad, just unfortunate & inconvenient.
