For a few bucks more, I just ordered a pre-built harness that'll save me the hassle of pulling connectors apart, using the wrong pins, etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T124918Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dunno if this is an ad or a public service announcement ... There's a fellow on the 986forum selling pre-built wiring harnesses for the hack that enables the on board computer. If you read the Pelican article on this hack, they recommend about $35 worth of VW and Porsche parts to make the wiring harness: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...stallation.htm For a few bucks more, I just ordered a pre-built harness that'll save me the hassle of pulling connectors apart, using the wrong pins, etc. It hasn't shown up yet (I just ordered it this evening), but judging from the pictures and comments in the thread, I figured it was worth a shot. I've got no connection to Dwight, other than being a customer and thinking he's onto a good idea. Here's the 986forum thread: http://986forum.com/forums/diy-proje...on-cables.html

POST 2Original post

I would be happy to post some pics and details if it is OK with the board. Dwight
