Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check here' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check here' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Rennlisters! This just started happening yesterday on my 2003 Carerra 4 Cab. Has anyone seen anything like this? First reaction is faulty sensor. Wanted to check here before trudging it over to the dealer for the expected pillaging. Video attached.
Yep, I'd change the sensor first.
It shouldn't be THAT bad of a job.
LOTS cheaper doing it yourself than sending to the dealer.
Below is the list of things I'd send my car to the dealer to fix:
...end of list.
Esto,
Do a Google search and then go to the Rennlist threads. The search function on Rennlist does not work that well.
The oil pressure switch is not that bad of a job, just a little tricky with reaching it from the bottom, although you can see it from the top. There are plenty of threads on the procedure.
Simple fix of the pressure sensor. I had that "Holy C**p" moment a few times before RL provided the answer. It can happen with a sharp turn, upon hard braking, or hitting a bump. Looks like sudden acceleration in your case.
My guess is sending unit. FYI the same sending unit does both functions of the gauge and the idiot light. I had to replace mine on my n/a 996 once, its pretty easy. You will need a crow foot wrench to make the job simple.
@Esto Pila
it's a relatively easy job. Once you remove the passenger side rear wheel you can actually see it from below. A ratchet, an extension and a crows foot (i think a 19mm) will have it out. Loosen it from the bottom then you can stick your hand into the engine compartment and you'll be able to unscrew it by hand. Be sure to unplug the two terminals first. They actually get corroded and rusty and often cause the sensor to act funky.
I did not need to remove the wheel when I replaced mine a few weeks ago. Nor did I need to lift the car.
Lots of threads here and elsewhere (and youtube vids) detailing the process.
