Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I need to do pads and rotors on my 996; possibly all four corners. The car is just driven on the street. I've seen Sebro discs and Akebono pads recommended here before; would others agree that they are the go-to for this situation? A shop did my front pads and rotors right when I purchased the car with Powerstop hardware anda warning that the rears would be need to be done soon. I'm now hearing a squeal from the car and can't determine if it's coming from the new parts in the front or the wear in the rear. I have tried re-bedding the brakes. Is there some sort of anti-squeal/anti-rattle hardware I should check out that would cause this issue (if it was installed incorrectly, or not at all)? Would I want it for my new install? I also have to pull wayyyyy up on my parking brake lever to actuate the parking brake. I've tightened the cable in the console. I assume the next step is to replace the shoes? I just need one set/SKU, correct? Thanks!

There r 2 adjustmemts on the ebrake. There is a star spinner that expands the shoes under the rotor hat and if u pull the consul u can adjust the tension on the cables coming into the handle.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
