Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yep - I did that when I replaced the AOS as I needed to remove that coolant reservoir.
Leading evidence: 'Replace aos as i needed' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean container and reuse it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You can always drain the coolant into a clean container and reuse it.

Third way is I guess just to fill the coolant and open the valve and let the car run until the air comes out but I guess that is the worst method.

I don't like the manual method as it requires running the car for "ages", remove the fuse (tiptr) and probably sing a song, dance and everything else.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a leak on the right side of that engine bay - what is that connector? Is that pipe (connector towards the viewer here) aos breather hose to crankcase?
Also - is that big hose a radiator hose ? Which way it flows? Thinking if I could clamp that somehow that I could have better access to that leaking area.
AOS to crankcase breather with a vent valve to atmosphere. Matters very little which way the coolant flows in that hose. You just need to drain some coolant from the coolant drain plug to drop the level below that hose. Part #6 here

Ok - thanks - so hopefully it relates to that old issue with AOS that was fixed - didn't notice that the other end of that aos hose could sweat that much oil.
About that - I was thinking that if that is a return line for the radiator that pipe/hose slopes downwards towards the end and if I were to open that top hose clamp it would flood the fluids that way.
No way that is going to happen. You can always drain the coolant into a clean container and reuse it. Check out that parts diagram. There is also an O-ring seal for the hose connector to the vent valve.
Yep - I did that when I replaced the AOS as I needed to remove that coolant reservoir. That tricky part is I guess the method of getting that coolant back. I do have the tool to create a vacuum and use that to suck that coolant back but I have a crappy small air compressor which is not large enough so it was a major pain to switch on/off to create enough vacuum. I don't like the manual method as it requires running the car for "ages", remove the fuse (tiptr) and probably sing a song, dance and everything else. Third way is I guess just to fill the coolant and open the valve and let the car run until the air comes out but I guess that is the worst method.
