Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I believe it can be used by a Porsche dealer (PIWIS) to read some diagnostics from the engine, but that is all I know.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2004 C2. This plug sits on passenger side towards the rear of the car. It is part of a bundle of wires which includes the passengers side oxygen sensors and MAF sensor wires. It doesn't have length to go far from the right rear of the car but I don't have anything it plugs into. Can someone identify what this plug is for? The plug I am referring to is the top plug in the picture with no connection. Possibly the rear automatic spoiler (I have factory aero package)?

POST 2Original post

There is an empty wire harness plug there that goes nowhere and plugs into nothing. I believe it can be used by a Porsche dealer (PIWIS) to read some diagnostics from the engine, but that is all I know. I also think there is a kind of black plastic holder for it, right side of engine bay on the back shelf.

POST 3Original post

It's called the "Automatic Exhaust Gas Recirculation Examination Connector"...It's is used at the assembly line/factory, not used by PIWIS or anything, has a data line from the DME only though that can carry the same info from DME, but no other data lines included in it like the PIWIS/OBDII connector.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
