Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've always replaced the rear tires with an identical set of new tires so all 4 tires are the same brand, model, and N-number.
Leading evidence: 'Replace rear tires' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend pss' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
If you have a "summer set" and a "winter set", then I'd have no hesitation to recommend the PSS set for your "summer" choice.

On my Turbo I've run both Continental and Bridgestone tires and based on the way the car felt I couldn't tell the tire brands apart.

I've run Michelin's on my other vehicles and love them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have AS/3's and they are very noisy ! They were on the car when I bought it. Long life, but I would not have them again
Check out Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2's.
Great performance, good tread life, quite and not terribly $$
I have the Pirelli P Zero's on my current ride and I'm happy with them. Having said that, pretty much everyone that I talk to about tires is surprised that I haven't had trouble with them (not really sure why). I've run Michelin's on my other vehicles and love them.

i also have the p-zeros on both my 993s with no issues. then again, i'm a cruiser and not a racer. took the c4s to willow and the p-zeros gripped very well - as it should being a soft tire.
Don't run an all season on one axle (AS3) and a summer tire on the other - It will throw the handling on the car off. The Michelins are most popular, but the RE11 is an excellent one also.
Give me a call if I can help!
Another vote for a matched set of Michelin PSS, front and rear, unless you drive in a winter climate.

I've always replaced the rear tires with an identical set of new tires so all 4 tires are the same brand, model, and N-number.
My advice would be you do the same unless you are in some way dissatisfied with the current set of tires and do not want to run them any longer and are willing to replace the fronts too even though they may have considerable service life left. With my cars I get 20K miles from the rear tires and double that from the front tires so in the case of you car and its front tires they could have another 20K miles of service life left.
I have no experience with the newer Michelin tires but the previous generation Michelin tires were quite good. Whenever I had a choice between various N-rated brands of tires, and the Michelin tires were not priced too much higher (and my threshold was around 10% higher) I'd go with the Michelin tires, though often the Michelin tires were about the same -- just a few dollars one way or the other difference.
But when the Michelin changeover was taking place I went back to Pirelli tires -- the brand of tires the car came with from the factory -- and do not feel like I've sacrificed anything. The Pirelli tires are quite good, their only negative is they make a bit more noise when they get worn and hard from heat cycles, but this is not sufficient grounds for me at least to not use them.
On my Turbo I've run both Continental and Bridgestone tires and based on the way the car felt I couldn't tell the tire brands apart. Both brands deliver superior performance and tire life. When it comes time for a new set of tires, 4 tires, I just buy whatever brand the dealer has in stock or can get in the quickest and generally whichever tire is the least expensive.
Michelin PS2s for me, I'm very happy with them! Handling wise on the 911s I believe that the Michelins have the edge over Pirellis, whilst on the Cayennes I found the opposite to be true.
Having said that I have never had a set of Pirellis that did not 'early retire' due to quality issues which included: unacceptable noise levels, weak side walls and overnight flat-spotting.
I'd be over the moon if I got 20k miles out of a set of rear tyres!
