Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all...new C4S owner here. Am in the midst of catching my purchase up on a lot of deferred maintenance. Doing serpentine belt, pulleys, AOS, and coolant tank now; just finished plugs and coils.
My question is this - can anyone give me some tips on how to remove either the belt tensioner lever arm, or the entire belt tensioner assembly? There is an external torx bolt on the lower right of the housing that looks impossible to remove.
I just need to create room to remove the tensioner pulley mounting bolt from the back of the arm. It is completely buggered.
Thanks all.
There is a 5mm allen screw on the back side of the tensioner that MIGHT release the lever arm, & you MAY be able to remove it by removing the intake plenum & throttle body. If this won't work you will have to remove the whole housing after removing the power steering pump. This is a major pain so if you can secure that bolt which is 15mm wrench size, & torque the 24mm nut/ pulley axle from the front, it's alot easier. (44lbs.)
Just to close the loop on this for anyone searching this topic in the future - I successfully completed this job as follows:
-disconnect battery
-remove airbox
-remove serpentine belt
-remove throttle body
-remove alternator (set aside, no need to disconnect wiring harness)
-remove oil filler neck
-remove M6 Allen-head in rear center of tensioner which retains lever arm. This will be by feel only, unless you stick a mirror in there
-gently pry lever arm forward using pry bar until sufficient space is available to swap out tensioning pulley mounting bolt
-reassemble in reverse order
