Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Wondering if anyone has mounted a "Trunk Mount" Bike Rack on his 996 C2Cab read lid. I have seen a hitch version of a bike rack, but I am looking for some photos of a Trunk Mount Rack (model #), which would clear a launched OEM rear spoiler. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Just installed a Will Wood bike rack on my 2005 Turbo S cabriolet. Easy install, about 3 hours to assemble and install. Very trick. Carries 2 bikes without any contact with car body other than at permanently mounted twin 1-1/4" hitch receivers on either side of the license plate, just inside bumperettes. No interference with spoiler. Not cheap. Final cost about $715, including rack from Will, Yakima forks (eBay) for carrying front wheels (rack uses wheel skewer attachment of bike front forks to provide lateral stability to bike, avoiding straps to car body). Bikes are carried solidly well above ground to avoid ground contact at driveway entrances, etc. Very pleased. Pictures later. http://www.willwoodsystem.com/
