Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am trying to sell a hardtop from a 1999 996 but don't know what color it is. I bought it for my 2001 Lapis Blue cabrio and it doesn't match. I think it is either "Dark Blue" or "Midnight Blue". Lapis Blue was not made in 1999. The car was sold well before I bought the top so I do not have access to the Vin number or option code sticker from the original vehicle. Any help would be appreciated. Having problems uploading pictures here so here is a craigslist posting with pics: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/m...524398788.html Steve

POST 2Original post

My car is Ocean Metallic Blue and from looking at the pix it could be the same color. It would help to have a picture in bright sun and another picture in shade. OMB takes on a violet cast in bright sun and goes to navy blue in shade. I saw some violet in one of the pictures.

POST 3Original post

I think it's Mighnight Blue Metallic. the top I have for my car is OBM (I think). Shame since my car is Mighnight Blue Metallic.

POST 4Original post

I believe the standard blue colors available in 1999 were "Ocean Blue Metallic 3AZ/3AY", "Ocean Jade Metallic 25K/25H", and "Zenith Blue Metallic 3AX/3AW". These colors can really change with the lighting. Mine is Ocean Blue Metallic with matching hard top:
