So the question is I assume I should just go ahead and replace the front bearing plates for 100 bucks right?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

lowering a 996 C4 Cabrio (2002) H&R springs with Bilstein Sport Shocks (got everything for only 1150 brand new and didn't need coilovers so this was good for me) I bought new drop links, not tarret or anything but since i was going to be under there I figured I would replace keeping the stock sways So the question is I assume I should just go ahead and replace the front bearing plates for 100 bucks right? But what I am struggling with is the shock mounts have ballooned in price. To do all 4 corners for the shock mounts its now near 1000 bucks which is ridiculous (~460 for the fronts and ~300 for the rears) I don't need monoballs etc, anyone know of a location with more reasonable shock mount alternative, or the OEM supplier non porsche brand I can use? Remember this is a C4 so the C2 lemborder mounts won't work in the front.... thanks for any help!

POST 2Original post

I have bought from these guys. Good seller and no affiliation. http://stores.ebay.com/Quality-Porsc...=p4634.c0.m322 You are bound to find something here.

POST 3Original post

33jacket, I am in the middle of doing the same car. I also got new links. I went with the M030 suspension from Porsche. Here are pics of the front mounts and bearing that also needs replacement. My mounts were shot and so was the bearing.

POST 4Original post

Also while the car is up in the air. Take off the rear wheel well plastic and look at your drains. My drains were shot. Easy clean and run water through them after from the top. Here is the worst one. Almost completely clogged.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

good input do you know if I need to move to adjustable drop links for my 1" lowering or is that is only if I change the sway bars? I thought it was just if you do a sway bar change out...just want to be clear so I order the right parts.
