Most black seats I've seen change hands on here for 1500-1800 if they're in really nice shape.

I changed the price on CL for $900 and see if there are any bites.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

38 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, I just pulled out my stock seats and replaced with aftermarket Sick Speed seats and don't see going back. They are in good condition, no tears, etc... What should I list them for $$ as I have no idea what the market is. Non-powered, plain 'ol 996 seats. I was thinking $600 on CL??

POST 2Original post

is that Metropol Blue? i would pay that if you were close..your price is kind of low i think

POST 4Original post

Those arent plain old seats. They are sport seat option. Id maybe double your asking? They look in great shape. next better seat than those are euro Gt3 buckets. Why the heck you replacing them?😎

POST 6Original post

Are they really non-powered? Look similar to mine and mine have motors in them for at least 1 function. I bet the OP replaced them due to weight. Man, my seats are heavy!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 17450700

Well, they are black seats. They are not heated, not powered and quite honestly not that comfortable to me, lol. I replaced them with these and they are better fitting to me. I changed the price on CL for $900 and see if there are any bites.

POST 8Original post

too low - they are worth at least a couple grand. more if heated.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 17450761

I guess you are correct, they are powered, just not to tilt the back. Hah, I never played with them I guess once I fitted myself to them 3 years ago, lol and yes, they are heavy suckers!

POST 10Original post

A couple grand? Eh... maybe. I paid $2400 for 997 hardback sport seats with the backs painted body color. I think $1200 on the high end if you actually want to sell them and not sit on them (pun intended...)

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 17450822

Thanks for your input. I'll go with $900 and see if they move quick. Then it's on to the next project. I really want to do an aero kit next and then be done with visual projects for now

POST 12Original post

I would maybe do them if you can get them down to Hood River.

POST 13Original post

Most black seats I've seen change hands on here for 1500-1800 if they're in really nice shape. If they're crested/heated/more power options then they can be pricier, but 1200-1500 for nice enough black seats would be my range. I'd list for 1500 and see what you get. -Matt

POST 14Original post

These are beautiful, I would buy them in a heartbeat but you are across the country for me :-(

POST 15Original post

Put those back in and take out the Honda Del Sol seats...

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 17450972

Ahhh, who the hell am I to talk. Do whatever you want.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 17450980

LOL, it's all good. I haven't seen one of those 'Del Sols' in ages. To each his own, right?

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 17450847

You're in Washington, right? I could get up there with $900 in 10 hours or so...

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They are Sick Speed branded seats GAIJIN V1 LEATHER DIAMOND STITCH RECLINING SEATS – Sickspeed I was looking at the Braums but the green stitching hooked me....... You can see more of them in my car on my profile album if you want. Oh, and Planted seat mounts for them. They seem to be strong and built near me in Seattle

POST 21Original post

I sold a set of real nice black hardback sport seats on a the 996 facebook group for $1,600 and the buyer arranged shipping to Texas. He had the backs painted to match his 996.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, so many people have been so kind to me in my endeavors to purchase parts, get information, etc... I figure this is paying it forward then.

POST 24Original post

I paid 100 to have ship from WA to MA last year. Same seats, paid 1,500.

POST 25Original post

Quotes source post: 17450972

😀 I do agree with you. at least keep em for next owner😎

POST 26Original post

If only you were in TEXAS! Dang I'd buy those right now.

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 17452873

I love 'em. I am not used to the harness yet, but the seats are comfy and keep me in place better than stock so I am happy. The feel of the 'synthetic' leather is nice. Nick

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sold to another Rennlist member. Just helping another bruddah out Thanks all for your input.

POST 31Original post

Quotes source post: 17451012

FWIW - The new seats look awesome - green stitching really ties the interior together. If they're more comfortable than the stock seats more power to 'em.!

POST 32Original post

Thanks again! I am seriously considering painting the backs speed yellow. The stockers have served me well for countless track days and 166k miles. Time to give that side bolster a rest.

POST 33 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh yeah Jyoteen, you have to paint the seatbacks speed yellow or I want my seats back!!!!!!! That is a must when you have a yellow car. There has to be a rule on this somewhere!

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 17450762

I have sat it a set of the sport seats, and found them a bit uncomfortable too. Not as much lateral support As I would like either. I get your reasoning. I went all in with the euro Gt3 buckets. Once youre in them, youre really connected to the car. Your new seats appear to do the same, so thats what really matters....😎

POST 35Original post

Quotes source post: 17453391

Congrats, well bought. Another option would be having them wrapped. Thats what I did with my euro buckets.

POST 36Original post

How are the seats holding up? How does the material feel? What do you have on your ebrake handle?

POST 37 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 17511432

The seats are great. I don't slide around at all. The pleather seems to hold me from sliding at all. I am surprisingly happy with the purchase of them for sure!!! I wrapped the park brake handle with paracord. 10' doesn't do it, you need a little longer cord. Ask me how I know, lol. I bought a bunch of different 'greens' in 10' lengths off Amazon and they are too short and really light duty, lol. I finally found this stuff that was much more stout. No glue, just tight wrapping to see what it would look like. I wrapped it like I do with eyes on a fishing rod. Yes, I build fly rods too It is holding surprisingly well. I wasn't sure how it would look, but it's growing on me. I've also thought about wrapping the handle with bicycle handlebar tap in matching green too, but will stick with the paracord for now.
