Because the bumper is fiberglass you'll also need to have an M3 film installed on the bumper, that works like magic and negates the negative attributes of the fiberglass, however since there is no M3 computer pattern for this Frankenstein bumper it has to be hand cut on the car by a very, very skilled professional (read $$$).

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi everyone.
Firstly i am happy to see you.I live in Antalya.I am from Turkey. There is lots of porsche but there isnt porsche forum.
This forum is very perfect site. There is so many thread and everything is there.and one of the exciting thing is every user
have porsche in this site. This is wonderful.
When i was 18 i want a car. and one car garage. i must choose one of them.
lamborghini diablo 98 or my porsche. but i choose my porsche because lamborghini
have some problems into engine. and lamborghini is hard to use in turkey traffic
so i choose
porsche i love this.i bought quickly.now i am 19 years old.
and mylife started to change. my first car is porsche and this is really fantastic.i want to say something. you
are very lucky because in turkey for example this car is 60 thousand euros. this means 90.000 $.
in turkey cars is very expensive. if i will live in usa maybe i can buy a turbo or gt2 for this money.
I have a porsche.2003 year. 996 carrera.Cabriolet 4. 3.7L.320hp.
I make some little difrence wheels , wheels caps , windows , and carbonfiber somethings.and last thing i bought one pair of led
smoked porsche tail lights and i am waiting these.Lastly i am very happy and i am sorry about my bad english. i am trying
to learning lots of thing...This is my baby
. i wish you will like
*sorry about edits. my english is bad and i am writing slowly. so i want to add some informations about story.
Very nice! You must have a very good paying job. What do you do for a living? In the US most people at 19 are lucky to have a car worth $10k-$15k. Seems like most drive one worth < $5k.
I think you made the right decision to choose the Porsche. At your age is insurance expensive as well?
Welcome to the forum, you will learn a lot here. Enjoy!
welcome....
$90k - whew, in US that is a NEW 911, indeed we should be thankful - no way I could own one at those prices.
Your english is WAY better then my Turkish -

Welcome to the nut house
Thanks for the props!
You've got yourself a very nice ride there, congrats!
OK I thought I'd answer your pm here as the answers are sort of lengthy...
Of course you don't have to do all the mods at the same time (unless you're a psycho like me
) and shopping around for the right thing at the right price is half of the fun!
The easiest and cheapest is a DIY, check out post #19 on this link
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...r-stuff-2.html
On the same thread there's also a whole bunch of other stuff added by fellow RL ers.
The headlight masks are Techart's (polyurethane), I ordered those through my local Porsche dealer, $850,- not including paint.
You can get cheaper fiberglass ones on ebay ($250,-) but the fit and quality is not the same.
The one below is a veeeeery lengthy "copy past" to answer your question regarding my front end (of one of the more expensive mods you can do).
The breakdown on the 997 GT2 bumper made to fit on a 996...
You've got to do fiber/putty work on the tow-hook cover, the outside points where the bumper sits against the light, re-enforce the anchor point by the pumpkins (after shaving those down) and do a whole bunch of fitments, cutting and drilling for where the LED's go, the lip, grills, attachment by the hood etc, etc.
Than you've got the priming, sanding, painting and clear-coat before the final assembly, now because every surface curves in every direction block sanding is basically out... which means chances are pretty good you'll find some waves in the surface (of course after it's been installed) which means (if you're a psycho like me) you've got to have it done all over again!
Now that was with my bumper which is a high quality one (from Wicked Motor Works) compared to the one your looking at, it cost me about 5K with the oem led's, grills and lip + shipping and brokerage.
Also you'll absolutely need to have the oem lip cause it's very forgiving, the fiber-glass one is a disaster!
If you're going to spend this kind of $ on the labour for a bumper you might as well bite the bullet and go for the one I got (of course you still have to add the cost for the electrical of the led's).
So if you're still interested I know Wicked Motor Works do have a 997 GT2 bumper for your car, in total it cost me about 10K
It gets complicated and expensive but if it was easy everyone would be doing it!
I know it's sort of a crazy thing to do...but what a ride!!!!
Enjoy the window shopping and welcome to Rennlist!
Good luck!
Sid.
Holy crap. A choice between a Diablo and a 996 at 19? That is supremely awesome.
Great looking car too. I like the hood and the wheels, nice touches.

Congrats and Welcome! Do you want a far away Uncle Pete that you can visit and send money too? Kidding....
Amazing how different our worlds are but still share the love for the Pcar!
Welcome and enjoy! The gang in here can be extremely helpful and you will learn a lot. Now that you have the enjyment of the car, the fun for modifications is just begining. I'm sure you can get plenty of tips and suggestions, just ask!

Good Days
I want to say thank to you who interested my car and said good things
.Thanx all.
firstly i am waiting to my smoke led taillights.I hopei will install
it to my car in 1 or 2 weeks later. Secondly i wanna spoiler like Psycho Sid.
and maybe i will buy air intakes . But this is very hard to me because these things is so
hard to found in turkey. i can buy easily the lights because there is small
and one of my friend take me in her baggage. but the other parts is hard.
and no body take me . so when no body take me and the usa send me in
the usa or someplace . our goverment takes very much taxes from us.
and there isnt good mood masters. if i can take these parts , i cant trust no
body. finally
i am happy with my wheels carbons and i will be happy with my lights.
