I just spent 6 months test driving, PPI'ing and searching for my 996, and ended up with a 2001 C4 Cab....
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I bought a 1999 996 cab from a Rennlister in 2013? I put about 5k on it & have bought a 991.2 so I am looking to sell my 1999.
My question (if this isnt the right place I apologize) is what is a fair 'current' rate. I paid a lot more for the 2018 991.2 cab than I thought it would cost (just the market).
This is more of a general question so I dont want to throw to much out unless this is OK to do but 85,000, black/black/black. Good shape overall, no problems, IMS replaced - ready to go. Only things could be done is the passenger side seat motor controls seem to get 'stuck' where if you wiggle it the seat moves back - going forward seems good though. I saw a write up of how to fix it here but never bothered as I didnt drive it much (no bluetooth, heated seats, nav, etc ). New one has all that.
Any ideas of pricing that is reasonable where it will sell without sitting for weeks on end?
Thanks,
Rich
It is manual: This is the info from the original sellers Ebay ad (a rennlist user and a great guy - very helpful and always around to answer my many OCD questions): Again beyond maintenance I did bring the car to Cheech at Rennworks in Elmsford who said the IMS was original so I paid to have it done - the previous owner had that done at a different shop (receipts show it was done) so the IMS is 'extra' safe in that we both paid two different shops to replace it
I am embarrassed to admit that I really didn't do much to the car beyond go for 'ice cream' with the kids - even then not all that much From the original sellers ebay.

In the northeast, what you describe was anywhere from $12k to $19k asking. I saw a couple turds on both ends of that price range, but I think the majority of good "C2" cabs were in the $16-$17k range the past 6 months.
Note.. I'm not really commenting on what I think yours is worth, but thats what I saw "for sale" recently during my own search. Values are going up... I've seen a couple 996.2 recently around here for $21k..... good luck with your sale.
Rich,
Your question is a good one in the current market. I asked the same thing earlier today in this thread: post 1496
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ng-up-100.html
The answer came back around 14/15k. Price your car +/- depending on condition and records.
