Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I see delamination of the OEM carbon fiber on used Porsches and get a little worried about that.
Leading evidence: 'Use porsches and get a little worried about' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use porsches and get a little worried about' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking for door sills, radio trim, shift ****, hand brake, center console, and other factory parts. I figure lots of 996s were stripped and turned into track toys so maybe someone has a complete set out there. This is to go into my GT3.
I have been looking at carbon fibering my car, too. Have you looked at aftermarket (dbcarcon macarbon examples)? I see delamination of the OEM carbon fiber on used Porsches and get a little worried about that.
Just bought a carbon console, which came with this insert. I already have the ashtray-delete part, courtesy of DBCarbon. I believe this was from a cab, as it has two sets of window controls.
Any need/interest? I may put it on the classified section, as I'd rather it go to use thand take up space and gather dust in my garage.
Yes; and, no. Depends upon the part/age/climate. My shifter and horseshoe have hairline cracks. Gauge surround? No. Batwing no, dash trim no.
Ultimately it depends upon a variety of factors including price, price, price and, of course, price. And a few others. One can occasionally find decent salvaged parts (see below); DBCarbon and MACarbon receive universal praise, and my experience has been quite good. A few locales have independents that will 'carbonize' parts on an individual basis (not the vinyl thing, but actual carbon fiber). If you have some skill and too much time on your hands, do-itcherself is possible but rather labor intensive from what I've seen.
I secured this console for about 1/3 of what I'd pay one of the above, among others. There's one small crack. For me, I can accept that, given that I've already chosen to tolerate the ones already in my OEM carbon. Others will disagree. That's why Bresler's has 31 flavors. To each, his own.
If anyone would like the spare console insert I posted above, let me know. I suppose I'd take $75 and postage, simply to get something out of it and get it in the hands of someone who will use and enjoy it.
