There was a fuel valve replaced a few weeks ago, I'll have to mark on a pic what was replaced.
Leading evidence: 'Replace few weeks ago, i'll have' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace few weeks ago, i'll have' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Now that my own throttle body and recently replaced regeneration valve were refitted the noise has stopped completely

My idle control valve died so to keep my car on the road my mechanic swapped the whole throttle body from his own car on to mine, inc the regeneration valve.

If so this was replaced with a new one from Porsche on my car a few weeks ago.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Over the past week or so I've noticed a kind of low pitched air leak sound from around the fuel filler location/bottom of windscreen on the RHS of the car. It happens when I turn the car off, a sort of air leak sound.
I think I can hear it too when pulling away from a stop.
Any ideas what it might be?
Thanks
If it is this, it might be bad. Do you have problems filling up your tank to full? Does the pump handle keep shutting off? That may be a sign. Again, I'm no expert.
Purge valve, where is that located? There was a fuel valve replaced a few weeks ago, I'll have to mark on a pic what was replaced.
I haven't noticed a problem filling it, I'll be filling it soon as I'm low on fuel so I'll take note.
I used the wrong term.
Purge valve is on the charcoal canister. And it could be that also but not as common.

I meant The Regeneration Valve from Throttle Body for Fuel Vapor System.
Pelican part # 996 110 129 53 M100
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...pg4.htm#item11
It attaches to the left side of the throttle body, lives above the alternator.
This article has some good info. And bad. It does partially explain the evaporative emissions system.

What year is your car?
That looks like the right place but that part looks odd? Look at this one, same?

When the car is warmed up and running put a stethoscope on it and see if it is cycling. (or a screwdriver against it and your ear)
What Frank refers to is this valve

Look a little higher above the alternator almost to the ceiling of the engine bay.
What you circled in your photo is the vacuum changeover valve for the intake resonance flap.
It is not part of the SAL.
Does Ireland have Fuel Vapor recovery requirements?
That is what the regeneration valve is a part of. When it cycles it allows manifold vacuum to pull air through the charcoal canister thus purging trapped fuel vapor, bringing it back to the manifold so that it can be burned in the engine.
Just to close on this.
My idle control valve died so to keep my car on the road my mechanic swapped the whole throttle body from his own car on to mine, inc the regeneration valve. Shortly after that I started to get the venting noise from the front of the car.
Now that my own throttle body and recently replaced regeneration valve were refitted the noise has stopped completely
