Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I think the key is to use a high grade oil ( I use miller at $20 a quart) and change it often .

What tires were you running compared to the Cayman for example?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Cross posted from the vehicle classifieds. Awesome turn key 996 race car ready to go. Lots of new or updated parts. Go racing or just win all your DE's .....Well over 100k invested in this car.

I remember riding in a 993 cup car at the track and it was simply unreal. That car pulled so much g force I almost got sick. Sad thing is you will never want to go back to your street car after driving something like this. GL with sale.
Great momentum, pretty smooth, and good lines. You can really see your suspension setup working in the corners as cars start falling back in the rear view. Couldn't turn the sound on at work but I wish the braking/accelerator icons worked in the playback. Noticed the temps stayed in a good range the entire time as well. What tires were you running compared to the Cayman for example?
one more thing ... any online gallery to see the build details ?
looks like a very interesting build. 10k over my budget but it looks like very high quality parts are coming with the car, I understand the price. Just getting close to 996 cup car nowadays.
It has the x51 oil pan but that's it. I think the key is to use a high grade oil ( I use miller at $20 a quart) and change it often . I've been racing for years now and seen very few catastrophic engine failures in these cars on track. It's my humble opinion a lot has to do with the driver and not the car.
The car was built a long time ago. I will add more details of the build in my for sale thread.
Price is always negotiable .
I just bought a 6 cup and after searching I can tell you your going to pay 60k plus for a decent one. There are some older ones that aren't updated to 05 specs but they won't be competitive . Expect to spend another 35k to bring it up to spec. And a lot people try to dump their cups just before they need a 25k motor rebuild and 8k tranny build.
Glad to hear the X51 and good oil do the trick.
What oil weight do you use ?
I added the X51 oilman in my car a few years back and I notice a drastic difference in oil pressure at the track. I agree that it makes a huge difference.
But I always chickened out on using slicks because of the fear of oil starvation. I am happy to hear about your positive experience.
