Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently got a friend of mine to take a video of my 996 with my recently installed Fabspeed supercup exhaust and I am not sure how much longer I will keep this exhaust before going back to my gundo hack exhaust. Please note that it is significantly louder in real life than the video. Be sure to turn up your speakers! Porsche 911 Carrera - Fabspeed Supercup Exhaust - YouTube

POST 2Original post

Sounds great! Why are you thinking of removing it? Is it too loud and/or droning for you? What kind of bracket did you have to make for the camera and where did you fasten it? I couldn't help but notice the exhaust tips dipping under power. How old are your motor mounts? Is this standard even with fresh mounts?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I noticed about the exhaust tips too but the motor mounts were 2 years old only. I will have to do more testing to see if the engine mounts are still good. For camera: it just a go pro with suction cup for the exhaust...ya it is really loud and drone anything under 3k rpm

POST 4Original post

FWIW - I think it sounds great, but obviously it's not working for you... I've got the maxflow's on my car and they sound similar to yours but probably not as loud (so I've been told) - you may want to check them out...Good luck

POST 5Original post

Great video, well done. I think it sounds great, but I could see getting tired of it after a while.

POST 6Original post

Car sounds great. Made me: The Lonely Island - Jizz In My Pants - YouTube And who the hell is your buddy, Usain Bolt? Man that dude is hauling *** running behind you taking that video.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the video doesnt do the justice in terms of how loud the car is. It is significantly louder in real life. Beside, it's the drone that is killing my ears.

Lmao, I'm glad someone else appreciates Andy sand bergs genius.

POST 9Original post

Are you using stock cats and headers? Personally I don't like my car sounding like I'm really trying hard to accelerate or going at 100mph when I'm only accelerating gently to 40mph. lol Also it would even be more embarassing if your car made all that noise and you lost to a BMW 335i.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

stock cats and headers i am thinking high flow cats might be able to reduce the amount of deep drone

POST 11Original post

Nice video! Sounded awesome, thanks for sharing!

POST 12Original post

Great vid. Here's my semi-crappy vid of my fabspeed with high-flow cats. Sounds quite different. I don't find any drone, and not too loud. I'd actually prefer a slightly more aggressive sound, but pleased with it. . Fabspeed Drive by clip2 - YouTube

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

is it fabspeed supercup as well?

I recently did something similar to one of my cars & ended up doing the same thing! It's ok for awhile but then it definitely starts to bother you! Thanks for Sharing (yeah it doesn't sound so bad in the video)! GL!

Speed yellow aero, one of my favourites! Very nice.

+1 Mk I aero in Speed Yellow has to be one of, if not THE, best looking 996s made. Looks like Neto's car, which I think is the nicest looking car on this board. EDIT: Of course with the exception of Schnelly's car, but only because of his ghetto 19" wheels.

And his incorrect spoiler. Just saying...

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL! the incorrect mk2 spoiler right?

POST 19Original post

These are OEM tips ? I want to do supercup with OEM tips, this video really helps out. I noticed your 996 sounds significantly deeper in sound compared to the other fabspeed video posted online of a blue 996. That Carrera had a fabspeed comp intake as well though. Hmm decisions decisions...

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 12392050

Yes they are OEM tips. I believe mine is deeper because I have stock cats. High flow cats would make the car more raspy and not as deep

I was going to say WHY you didn't get the yellow car Instead of Red, but i see you have a 928 Not a 996!
