Also had my A/C condensers and dryer changed whilst it was in.

The mechanic said no problems with the fit.
They look great, and sound better than stock IMO.
Deeper, throatier (whatever that means).
Also, not too loud (at least in the car). Maybe a tiny bit louder.
Not sure what they sound like if you are a pedestrian.
Quad tips make a nice change to the look (even though I also loved my stock fat oval tips).

Sweet! I've got Max-flow's on mine as well - Love the way it sounds (like a "sports car"). I'm not sure if I'd spend the cash to retrofit, but they came on the car and I like them. Drone? Not really...there are a few points in the rpm range that do resonate a bit (always under acceleration) but as soon as you settle in to a steady speed the resonance/drone goes away...doesn't bother me at all.
Having just installed my Maxflo's last weekend - and we're still getting used to each other - I would agree with your perceptions. I can't believe anyone thinks they are too loud - I'm not sure that they make more noise, but the noise they make is different. To be honest, I thought the FS intake was louder change, but even then up in the RPM range a bit.
