Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I originally connected the durametric and discovered I was only getting 57% I have now adjusted the cable.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust cable' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'ecu goes into closex loop operation' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust cable' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Try getting a friend to press the accelerator all the way down to the floor with the engine off then see if you can open the throttle more by hand pressing the linkage further in the same direction, if so this is your missing 20 percent , the cable simply isn't pulling the throttle all the way open and needs adjusting, unless you have already checked this?

Suspected cause
Probably the ECU goes into closex loop operation when the TPS reaches 80%.

Suggestion
I would check your cable for play when the throttle is closed , it may need tightening to remove the slack.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Why does the durametric show only 80% max throttle on my cable 3.4? I purchased a new tps thinking I had an issue but it is the same. What does the x51 power pack get you? The missing 20%?

Yeah I have done that. I originally connected the durametric and discovered I was only getting 57% I have now adjusted the cable. But if you remove the tps and manually turn it to max you only get 83%. That's the same with my old and new tps's? Is this Porsches way of leaving more power available to sell as part of x51 package? I have read other threads in
the gt3 forum of this 80% max as well.
All the way open could be too much air and not needed for what the computer wants the engine to do, or even for what the engine wants to do. Just a thought.
Plus, at that point it's a balancing act between intake, fuel, cam, and exhaust. Letting air in faster may not accomplish much if it's not going through the system faster.
No. It it is not some way of leaving some power on the table to be regained by a simple throttle replacement.
I do not know the aerodynamics/fluid dynamics involved but it deals with that beyond a certain point the butterfly valve opening more is of no benefit and can be a negative in that it takes much more force to close against the power of the incoming air.
Probably the ECU goes into closex loop operation when the TPS reaches 80%. The early FI setus had a WOT microswitches and and idle micro switch that the throttle quadrant would trigger. My take is that this is the evution of that system. At WOT the ECU doesn't have enough time to read all the sensors so it only reads the MAF and the O2 sensor/s. At least that's sort of how it is in the 928.
