Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For the Turbo the tech -- at an indy shop -- used Bosch sensors that were the "same" as the factory sensors (probably Bosch too) but available at a lower price, but not that much lower a price.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2001 C4. CEL code P1117. I think that is the downstream sensor on the left side. What O2 sensors are people using? What is a good sensor at a reasonable price? Thanks for looking Lang

POST 2Original post

Lang, that code could be wiring issue or the sensor itself. Can your scanner read O2 sensor voltage in real-time? If you want to try your luck by not diagnosing, this sensor should be correct for your model Amazon.com: Bosch 15250 Oxygen Sensor, OE Type Fitment: Automotive Amazon.com: Bosch 15250 Oxygen Sensor, OE Type Fitment: Automotive

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Ahsai. I am using Dash Command in the car. I don't know if it will read (show me) the actual sensor output. I'll look. Thanks for the link on a sensor. That is the best price I have seen so far on a sensor with the plug on it. Regards.

POST 4Original post

You may be able to set up a gauge on Dash command with the right PID e.g., try to look for a PID with description "O2 volts Bank 1 sensor 2"

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Found the inputs for the sensor voltages. What should the readings be? It looks like I can see all 4 simultaneously.

POST 6Original post

Perfect. When the car is fully warmed up and idling with a/c off, a healthy reading should look something like this https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post11315385 If you have a short in the post-cat wiring, the post-cat voltage should peg to max (~1.0v) or min (~0v). If the senor is bad, you should get some values in between 0-1v most of the time.

#2 sensor bank #1. Heating fault. Had the same error on my 996 Turbo at around 131K miles. Had all 4 sensors replaced. Unless the sensor is relatively new my advice is you should replace at least both sensors -- the one pointed to by the error code and its counter part on the other bank -- to ensure both sensors are the same to help keep the fueling of both banks the same and closer to ideal. If the car's mileage is "up there" you may want to consider replacing all 4 sensors. For sensors some owners have used discount sensors I don't recall where they were sourced. For my two Porsches I've only used OE sensors. Check that. For the Turbo the tech -- at an indy shop -- used Bosch sensors that were the "same" as the factory sensors (probably Bosch too) but available at a lower price, but not that much lower a price. So far the sensors are ok but of course I've only put around 3K to 4K miles on them, not the 130K+ miles the original sensors had before I replaced them.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
