Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For me it was (or is) Bose: It sounds much better than stock, without hassle of finding 3rd party audio system. But I find I prefer the engine noise on this marque of car! PSM: less bothered after doing the Porsche driving school. I now appreciate just how much grip these cars have. PSE: yes please! But again, a simple muffler swap can give you a good sound. Also 997 vs 996 vs turbo, non-turbo. I am finding that basically ANY 911 is awesome and it's hard to choose. It is almost about having a change rather than finding something better. Change is good. There seems to be no wrong choice (as long as it is mechanically sound!)

POST 2Original post

I consider "essential" extras that are very difficult or sometimes impossible due to cost or technical difficulties to install after buying For example I love the fact that my 911 has: 1) Bose system 2) sport seats 3) extended leather 4) sport steering wheel 5) rear park sensors (although retrofit well fitted) 6) Double din Kenwood with touch screen and hands free Bluetooth But I suppose it's really subjective!

For me it is the 996 for certain and with PSM. I like the dash/interior of the 996 and I have an appreciation for PSM after it saved my a*# last weekend during spirited driving in heavy rain! I like the dash of the 996 as I view it as a nice evolution from the air-cooled cars dashboard design. The only item I would like to have in my car would be the sport seats with the hard shell GT Silver backs. I'm sure the 997's and 991's are "better" cars but I love my car and it has more than enough power for me and it's a great looking machine. With that said all 911's look great. And what would I look for in my next 911? An air-cooled engine

POST 4Original post

Litronic Extended leather followed by modifying the car to full leather including center console Aero package Three spoke steering wheel Bluetooth that I retrofitted Aluminum gage faces etc., etc. My car is perfectly to my taste now! Except of course the FVD pan that I will be installing next weekend.

POST 5Original post

Manual trans. 3-spoke steering wheel New/replace IMS bearing (somewhat irrational, I know)

POST 7Original post

When I was searching for my 996 I was looking for: Manual PSM 18" wheels Sport suspension Color - Black What I got: Manual PSM 18" Turbo Twist wheels Colored wheel crests Sport suspension PSE Seat lowered 10mm Sport seats Color - Arctic Silver Stainless steel door sills GT3 side skirts Bose sound Next one? Hmmmmm Has to be manual Would love the full aero package Full leather would be nice Litronic PSM - but not so important to me now. always turn it off on the track anyhow No IMSB Color - black (I know it's high maintenance but I dunno, there's something about black that excites me)

POST 8Original post

I am afraid my list of "must have" options is long: turbo, one of 4 colors(speed yellow, guards red, cobalt blue or seal gray if it has a little bling), black interior, 3-spoke, seat heaters, 6-speed, full leather, litronic. Nice to haves being carbon fiber interior, alumalook gauges, upgraded wheels, rear spoiler upgrade, double DIN upgraded stereo/nav, Bluetooth, mild tune.

POST 10Original post

Though this is my first 911, I was excited to find the one I bought. It has PSM, aero side skirts and wing, full leather, heated seats with lumbar, Bose, sport chassis and...drum roll....18" Sport Design wheels (love 'em). I went out of my way to buy this particular car because I doubted I would find another Cab in my preferred colors with all this good stuff and none of the bad (didn't want NAV).

POST 13Original post

It would be a 996 still. Turbo Green or blue. That's all I would change.

POST 14Original post

I'm not sure what I'll get next. I've only been in my 997 for about a year, and I did get some nice upgrades over my 996. I really like the sport seats and the PCCB option. I love the turbo, but moving into a 991 turbo at some point in the future means PDK. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that change. One thing for certain though; I'm loving the cabriolet. I think I'll get another one when the time comes.

POST 15Original post

Manual, coupe, sport exhaust, aero, IMSB upgrade, and sunroof delete would be nice. Everything else is meh.
