Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Been a long time since I used a gas can to put gas into anything but from what I recall it was always tricky to ensure the gas can and spout didn't leak.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had about a 1/2 gallon of new premium gas left in a Gerry Can. So I took a funnel - whose bottom clearly "opened" up the spring loaded flap and poured it into the tank. Imagine my surprise when about half of it wound up on the garage floor. I held the funnel down as I poured to insure the flap remained open. Any ideas as to why some of the gas ran down the "overflow" entrance to the tank? Sorry for the mis-spelling of anomaly.

Been a long time since I used a gas can to put gas into anything but from what I recall it was always tricky to ensure the gas can and spout didn't leak. In spite of my best efforts it seemed like some gas always ran out/leaked from the can spout and would make a mess of things. So I always assumed the thing would leak and made allowances for it to avoid spilling any gas on something or myself.

POST 3Original post

Easy way to see if you really have anything wrong is to just drive to the nearest gas station and try to fill up the tank slowly.
