However I had it for a thorough check by a specialist mechanic who actually said "go for it with closed eyes".

Also have to replace the indicator stalk because it's broken!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys!
This is my first post but I have to admit that this forum was really helpful the last 4-5 months in deciding what to do.
Finally after a lot of reading, thinking and saving I bought my first Porsche, a 2002 silver tip Targa.
It seems that everything is smooth on the car. However I had it for a thorough check by a specialist mechanic who actually said "go for it with closed eyes". Need a couple of things to be done to feel better while driving it but I think in general it is a good buy. It had 128000km and I believe it was kept in quite good condition.
Have a look and let me know what you guys think?
Thanks in advance
Hahahahahahaha
Yes!! Actually I was really wondering how many out of those 2693 Targas are RHD! Anyone who knows? I started feeling that it has to be quite rare!
Thanks guys!
Yes unique! The previous owner said its the only one on the island (Cyprus)
Have to double check it with the main dealer.
In general the RHD can't be more than 500!!
I "wished" I had done those additions but they were done by previous owner
The stereo is great, excellent sound and very user friendly!
Looking for something different now as an add-on to feel it more mine!!!!
Give me some ideas, I just don't want to get far from original, I like it the way it is!
LED bulbs for the interior, engine compartment and frunk.
Schild frunk liner to protect against reverse door dings from stuff carried in the frunk.
Can't tell if you have them already, but aluminum pedals are inexpensive & easy to do.
If you can find them, aluminum rings for the gauges.
Ashtray delete kit for the center console gives you an additional cubby space.
Hmmmmmm
Maybe foot pedals and dials....
Decided to stay away from major modifications but not sure yet!
Just completed one week with the car and my head is still turning!
My goodness, nearly every targa I have seen is the same color combo with the same options. Good thing it is the best! Congrats and enjoy in good health.
Check out DBCarbon; they're in Germany.
Speak with Daniel. If carbon fiber is your thing, the finish, communication and prices are excellent.
Enjoy being the entire
Cyprus 996 Targa Club!
Great motor well wear. Spent some holiday time in Cyprus many years ago would have loved to burn up those roads you guys have the pleasure of driving enjoy
Super nice find! Congratulations and welcome to the P-car family! I;m on my 3rd. I love a great exhaust note and fortunately the one I have for a bit in my possession has the Sport Exhaust option. It pops and burbles when first starting up and I feel like I am tearin' it up around the city when I travel. What does yours sound like? It is an option some will add on.
Like this I just found on FB:

Zeus, if this is the factory PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust), it's definitely worth mentioning clearly in your ad. IIRC, I don't remember seeing it in your ad. Even if it isn't, it's worth mentioning with a possible pic(easy to get from underneath). Yes I'm stalking your car. LOL.
Thanks so much guys!
Still trying to stay a bit away from mods but really it's not easy!
Maybe some aluminum gauges and foot pedals to start with.
Also have to replace the indicator stalk because it's broken! Grrrrrr
I've heard that it's better to get the original part which is supposingly "upgraded" not to brake easily!
I'll check it out as I actually don't know. This data was passed on to me by the current 3rd owner but I only see Option 014 (Lower 10mm, LSD 40%, Sport Seats) on the list. So I'll have a snoop underneath on the weekend.

I also found the original owner on Linkedin. He loved the car and is interested in telling the story. I speak w him hopefully Friday afternoon.
I was out driving it around last night. Great car. I am impressed with how well this 15 year old car drives. The engine is perfect. I am not quite sure how to describe it other than it's very "mechanical" in the experience. I drove a 991 a couple months back and it was very "cush", defiantly not mechanical, almost lacking "soul". Not so with the 996. I can see why you guys like these. My .2 Spyder is somewhat "mechanical" too, which is the reason I moved out of the 08 Turbo Cab and into it. But for 1/3 of the cost, the 996 rocks.
Congrats. First post for me. I've had the keychain for 21 years, 2 weeks ago finally the matching key. I'll post up some pics at some point... Owning a P car is pretty sweet, Tubi cans and exhaust make it that much sweeter!
