Lots of recommendations on RSS - I don't track the car, street use only but spirited use.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So... My baby has developed a god awful squeeking sound which has been diagnosed by Mike at Powertech in NJ as a failing ball joint on my front left Control Arm. Not to mention a pretty noticeable vibration in my steering wheel over 60 mph. Over all the handling has gotten noticeably loose. 65k miles on the car. Hoping you guys can help. Should I replace all 4 control arms front and back? Should anything else be replaced while doing the control arms? Trying to be budget conscious but do want to get my handling performance back to normal levels. Are TRW brand acceptable? Are OEM Poreche better? Lots of recommendations on RSS - I don't track the car, street use only but spirited use. Is it worth the cost or will I never notice a difference? Any other suggestions? As always many thanks for your valuable advise.

POST 2Original post

When I had a similar problem, I had only the offending control arm replaced using a Porsche OE part. It solved the problem.

POST 3Original post

Make sure they rule out the strut mounts being cracked. I went with Beck/Arnley and TRW pieces when I did the front control arms.
