Oh and just a note: if you replace your regulator with one from Pelican (non-porsche) make sure to remove the extra bottom hard stop (there for use in boxters) so that your window will go all they way down.

I have read that they will still deploy in an accident, but that was just from some guy on the internet, and I'm just one of those guys, too, so use your best judgement!

If it is possible to know this for sure I think it requires someone with the proper diagnostics computer to query the error codes and from these know (?) the unit is still functioning or not.

When I had a seat buckle go bad the airbag light came on so I asked a Porsche tech and he said they would still deploy in an accident. I guess it all depends on the code you are getting, mine was for the buckles. If you get an actual airbag code for the airbag it may not deploy.

My light came on because i re-connected the battery and turned the ignition on while the air bag was unplugged during my window regulator replacement. I am pretty sure it will still deploy. This is good excuse for me to order a durametric setup. Thanks for the responses. Oh and just a note: if you replace your regulator with one from Pelican (non-porsche) make sure to remove the extra bottom hard stop (there for use in boxters) so that your window will go all they way down. i need to take my door panel off again and remove it.

My understanding is that if the light is on the system will not deploy. This could depend on which code is set but best to presume they will not work.

dont feel bad. I did the same thing airbag lite still on...
