Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You need to have the parasitic drain tested/analyzed.
Leading evidence: 'Test /analyzed' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'easy fix' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test /analyzed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These things can be time consuming for a mechanic (and your wallet) but likely an easy fix.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi I have a 99 996 c2 and Im having an issue with my car randomly draining. Sometimes my car will be fine if I dont drive it for a week even 3 weeks other times if I let it sit for 3 days I come back and the battery is dead. Heres what I have done so far.
-new battery
- new alternator
- new alarm module ( oem)
- new radio ( oem)
has this happened to anyone? Would love Any advice. Thank you!
The simple solution is plug in a battery maintainer in the cigarette lighter socket. You have some type of parasitic drain. The entire car should shut down after 5 days of non-use.
You need to have the parasitic drain tested/analyzed. It should be no more than 50ma after the car has went to sleep.
If the parasitic drain is more than 50ma there is a problem that needs to be corrected. A drain of less than 50ma will take months to drain a good battery.
Yes door is locked most of the time. Has anyone found something that could be draining the battey? Car is totally stock. This also happens within the 5 days sometimes. Anything I can check that commonly drains the battery? Thanks everyone!
Common? Not really. Make sure everything is off, radio included. Frunk light staying on? When you say new alternator, what brand? Was it spanking brand new or rebuilt? The reason I ask is one draw that can occur is bad diodes in the voltage regulator which is on the back of the alternator. How to check? After an overnight cool down period put your hand on the alternator. If it is warm to the touch, bad diodes.
Was done by my Porsche independent mechanic. Let me check! Ill try the touch test. Thanks for the tip. I might pull the fuse to the radio and see if that helps.
Stalfors, on YouTube seach for "parasitic drain" and you'll find lots of videos about how to find the problem. It's pretty simple and will teach you how to avoid a possiblly expensive repair. Once you find the circuit with the drain, you can probably fix it yourself. These things can be time consuming for a mechanic (and your wallet) but likely an easy fix. Plus, you have the thrill of success. Even if you spend a few bucks on a multimeter, it's cheaper than a mechanic just opening the fuse box.
