Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If I don't let it run till idle drops down to 750-ish, I can almost guarantee a CEL.

So both me and the car have been waiting for this day since the 1st of November of last year. Pulled off the cover, unplugged the battery tender, put in the key....fingers crossed the mice didn't eat her up over the winter, turned her over and bamm, fired right up Let her idle for about 30 seconds, no cel's and backed her out.
I'm in love all over again....thought I'd drop a quick note to y'all before I go for my first spirited ride of the year.
Although in my advanced years I'm beginning to despise winter ever more, the anticipation and rebirth of the experience in the spring almost makes up for it......almost!
Pics to follow......
Idle for 30 sec? If I don't let it run till idle drops down to 750-ish, I can almost guarantee a CEL.
Congrats on getting getting her out of the coccoon.

No stands, overinflated the tire to 45psi, some sta-bil in the filled up gas tank, indoor car cover the aforementioned battery tender and some glue traps around the perimeter. Perfection!
Ya the traps work ok but baiting them with cheese or anything, is a double edged sword cause it attracts them to the bait. When I used bait stations, I was refilling them weekly, the critters just kept coming. I removed the bait stations and laid down glue traps...caught one and haven't seen any rodent activity since....fingers crossed I've found a solution!
Yes, I know what it feels like to bring her out of hibernation after a long hard winter (Wisconsin in my case). Moved to NorCal nine years ago and never looked back. When's a good day to take my P car out for a drive? Any day of the year!
When I did used to hibernate her, I did similar to OP, except for rodent control I just scattered mothballs around the perimeter of the car. Location was on a concrete slab in a newish polebarn located out in the middle of a field. I'm sure there were critters around, but I never had a problem. Maybe the mothballs worked well; or maybe I was just lucky.
Nice car! I'm snooping over here from the 987 Forum as I have coming today into my care today a well maintained 200 Km+ 996. I am supposed to "sell it to someone else" (other than mysel) but I for some reason DIG this car!
Question - where do you fin the headlight conversion covers?
Thanks in advance...
