To me, I think it gives the car a much more aggressive appearance , while setting the car apart from the norm .
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A friend , who owns a local custom metal shop , has been doing something a little different to a few cars. He's done a few MClarens , a 991 , and a Caymen.
He told me came up with the idea ,after looking at race cars .The local Pcar dealer has asked him to do the same on a few of their new cars. They sell Pcars, Mclarens , Lambo's ,and a few others.
I thought I'd ask him to give it a try on my 996 and see how it looks. To me, I think it gives the car a much more aggressive appearance , while setting the car apart from the norm .
By the way,can be removed without too much trouble.

No comment other than does it have any function other than looks or does it transform at all?
Do Ferrari, McLaren, Lambo owners actually put these on their cars?
If it transforms, it it allies with Bumblebee?
Just kidding. I think I like it, but I'm afraid it would decaitate slow squirrels attempting to cross the street.
In the 2 days since these have been installed on the car , I've received numerous positive comments , from both other Pcar owners and the general populace who have seen the car in person . I've been stopped walking from the car in parking lots , asked questions regarding them at stop lights , and had a crowd gathered while the guy was wrapping them in carbon fiber.
As to whether they do anything , Next time I go over 100 MPH, I'll let you know.(Should straighten airflow along the side but we'll see.)
To answer another question , yes, 2 McLarens and 2 Pcars (mine makes the third) have been done , and I understand a Lambo will have these done this week.
Each individual piece is bolted onto the car. Each piece is also custom shaped and cut for each car.

Are those DiNoc-wrapped aluminum?
I can see why those would look great on a Lamborghini or any other very angular car - but on a 996, the hard lines don't blend with the curves very well, and the dark CF wrap really makes them stand apart from the car. There's no line on the part that matches a line on the car, which makes it look really out of place.
But it DEFINITELY looks unique, and I can see some folks really getting charged up about them.
Like any other customization - if YOU like it, that's all that matters.
Sorry to have upset so many people. I would have thought , trying something out of the box , might have provoked new ideas or thoughts .
I will refrain from posting any future mods.
