Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just replaced the engine mounts on my '03 w/ 60K miles. Went pretty smoothly, thanks to threads on this site and youtube videos. Raised the exhaust tips about 3/8", so they were probably due. Anyway, when I remove the SAI pump to get to the left engine mount, I noticed there is no clamp on the hose that connects to the pump. Should there be? If yes, is its absence causing any problems? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

My '99 has a clamp but it's probably not that critical.

POST 3Original post

Absence is probably not causing any problems, but, I just went and looked at my SAI pump and the hose has a clamp on it right where it attaches to the SAI pump.

POST 4Original post

Mine does not and zero issues. The hose sits fairly snug on there too.

POST 6Original post

Just pulled mine out. There was not a clamp on the blower motor side

Assuming the SAI pump doesn't need to provide a great deal of air pressure, I imagine a clamp is not necessary, if there ever was one.

POST 8Original post

My 2000 C2 has a clamp. Probably not needed but they're like $2 for half a million of them.

POST 9Original post

Noticed this as well no clamp, but tape? Its something Ill be correcting!

POST 10Original post

Pretty sure 996.1 has/had clamps on the SAI blower side where as 996.2 does not come with a clamp. Dont think it matters at all. My 2004 did not have a clamp.
