Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
For side mounts, Brey-Krause R-9079 (for both driver and passenger side) sit an inch or so lower than the stock side mounts (I don't have stock ones to confirm actual amount), and have an extra set of holes up front to adjust the angle.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust angle' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust angle' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You can adjust lumbar with the little Velcro "pillows" that come with it.

Regarding sliders, 1st gen Audi TT uses the same (8N0-881-183/8N0-881-184) and they're available for a quarter of the price.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I did my first HPDE at Road Atlanta, and WOW I am hooked! So the first thing I need to sort is my driving position. I'm 6'2" and in order to fit with my helmet, I had to recline my seat way too much for optimal driver's position. Has anyone had and then solved this dilemma in their 996 Coup?
thanks
John
While I havent had a helmet on yet, I just ordered a Recaro Profi SPG XL and a brey Krause mount. Im not sure how much its going to lower the seating position, I couldnt find many definitive answers when I was googling regarding how much X&X combo lowered the seating position.
Once you lower your seating position are you going to find a way to extend the steering wheel position towards you or you find it to come out enough?
Ive got the euro fixed back seats like above and they actually sit higher than my hardback sport seats (Im 61). For track days, I remove the bottom seat pads.
Yep, GT3 seat or equivalent recarro will lower the seat. The ability to remove the seat cushion will do it further. I know plenty of folks that do it when on the track. You can use the oem seat belt system without a problem, as well as use them with racing harnesses.
Believe it or not, they are quite comfortable. You can adjust lumbar with the little Velcro "pillows" that come with it. I made the drive from Chicago to Philly and back in my 02 with GT3 seats. Car is set up for the track with Bilstein PSS9s, lowered. Etc. While bumps can be a little rough, seats were awesome and most importantly, my back felt better than making the drive in my Audi Q7 with all the lumbar adjustments in the seat.
it's been a long time since I have looked, but I think Brey Krause or another may make replacement brackets that further lower the GT3 seat. Wish I had more details to validate.
Picked up my GT3 bucket seats without side mounts and sliders, and I'm 6'4", so went way down the rabbit hole on this one. Regarding sliders, 1st gen Audi TT uses the same (8N0-881-183/8N0-881-184) and they're available for a quarter of the price.
For side mounts, Brey-Krause R-9079 (for both driver and passenger side) sit an inch or so lower than the stock side mounts (I don't have stock ones to confirm actual amount), and have an extra set of holes up front to adjust the angle. Bungs for the seat belt receptacles are welded into both sides so the additional Porsche mounting hardware (which is NLA) isn't needed. With this setup the top of my head (no helmet) brushed the headliner over some bumps, so I decided to floor mount. BK R-9044 floor mounts work with R-9079, but won't give enough rearward adjustment for tall drivers (unless you're all torso).
The setup you're seeing in both mine and
85eurocarrera
pics is the BK R-9080 side mount (drive side specific) with R-9042 floor mount. This gives you three fore-aft and three angle adjustments. Still playing around with the angle, but I've got well over an inch of clearance to the headliner now.
Also the floor mount has increased leg room enough for me that there's really no need for a center console delete (other than aesthetic reasons).
I have a pair of Red Recaro seats I need gone. I took them on trade for other Porsche parts, but I am never going to use them. They Profil style race buckets. I suppose I should put them on the marketplace. I need the money for my non-P car HPDE / autocross project. But yes you need seats to get lower in the car. You'll also drive the car better and spend less time sliding around in the seat.

I’d suggest giving BK a call and discussing with them - they’re good people and should give you some good guidance.
There is also an option for a thinner cushion.
The PET says option code I
XSU-Lowered Seats (-10mm)
p/n is 996 521 523 00 for non-heated seats, 996 521 525 00 for heated.
The miata guys cut the foam out of the seat and lower back cushion to get lower.
