Looking to buy 18x10 rears for my 2004 C4S. These will be for snow tires so I am trying to match them to a spare set of fronts I already have. My options in this wheel are ET 40 or ET 65. As far as I can tell the factory recommended offset is 47. Do you think I would be better off going down to 40 or running the 65 with spacers?

So the C4S comes with 11 inch wheels (that is stock)....which stick out 12.7mm more than 10" . My son had 10mm spacers with his C4S with 11" wheels...and they were perfect So that would mean it would stick 22.7mm further out then your 10 wheels if they were at 47. However at 40 they would stick out an additional 7mm but still well below the 11" stock wheel by 5.7 mm. So if I were you I would go with the 40mm wheel and add a spacer tour liking. The 65mm wheel would need a massive spacer so would not go there.
