Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey all, I'm in the process of acquiring all the pieces to do a gt3 console delete for my 2002 TT and I'm looking for some help in finding all the necessary trim pieces and brackets. My car came with an aftermarket double-din head unit that I'm replacing with a single-din unit. I also need to relocate the climate control module from the lowermost bin to the uppermost bin. I think I've found everything, but I want to verify with you experts. First, I think this is the trim piece that I need for the climate control when using it in the upper bin. Is that correct? Second, since the car previously had a double-din radio in the upper two bins, are there any brackets that I'll need to buy to convert it back to two, separate bins? Thank you, in advance, for your help.

My 02C2 coupe still had its factory PCM (2-DIN). I did just what you mean to do, last spring. Yes, the 'frame' in the dash is different as you migrate from 2DIN to 1DIN + HVAC. I do not have a part number for the radio/AC in-dash frame, as my Indy had a 996TT customer doing the opposite swap, But it definitely is different. I share your faith that that's the right trim piece to surround the smaller-than-DIN HVAC box. Becker autosound in NJ sells bluetooth-enabled CDR-220 radios if you want bone-stock appearance and BT-function. It takes a bit of doing if you have to/want to relocate seat heater switches to spots behind the ashtray (you're losing their ordinary locations as you delete the lower console). To me, it was worth ordering boxster seat heater switches, which have the pictograph in the correct orientation for those behind-the-ashtray spots. Good luck!

Thank you! This was helpful. Does anyone have a parts manual with the upper dash "frame" part number?

For posterity, here's the "frame" part that I belive I need
