Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use Optimum No Rinse Wash at a lower strength to wipe dust off my calipers, wheels and car.
Leading evidence: 'Use optimum no rinse wash at a lower strength' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean wheels' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Once or so a week I use a paper towel with Meguiars Quick Detailer to remove any dust and dirt.

If ceramic coating is too much for now, clean the wheels with an iron remover cleaner.

Suggestion
Unless you clean your wheels regularly the brake dust will begin to bake into the wheel surface.
Use opti-seal (which is less permanent than opti-coat and ceramics)

I typically use Opti-Seal (which is less permanent than Opti-Coat and ceramics).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Do they make a wet nap that I can can use to wipe off brake dust from dirty rims that wont hurt paint? Currently I spray with hose, wipe , spray water and dry. I would love to just wipe and be done with it.
Thanks
Low dusting pads and if you want even better protection, ceramic coating.
Hawk makes a number of street compound pads that are virtually dustless. I run them on my GT3.
Once or so a week I use a paper towel with Meguiars Quick Detailer to remove any dust and dirt.
Akebono pads mentioned above were a HUGE improvement in the amount of dust produced. 0 experience with them on track but for street driving and regular hooning around they're perfect. The duct they produce is much lighter in color and doesn't show very much.
As other's have mentioned, ceramic coating is the way to go. Prep is super important though so be sure to do that. Plenty of DIY videos on the tube about this. Wiping off rims or anything else for that matter without proper lubrication is a bad idea. You'll basically rub dirt and iron particles into the paint. If ceramic coating is too much for now, clean the wheels with an iron remover cleaner. It will make all the embedded iron turn purple as it melts away and smell horrible while doing it. Once you wash the car, you can use Turtle Wax Seal n' Shine on a towel to wipe down the wheels with once they have been cleaned. It's not a ceramic coating but it will help more than nothing and actually has a decent chemical resistance.

Does the ceramic prevent the dust from building up, or just make it really easy to clean?
I typically use Opti-Seal (which is less permanent than Opti-Coat and ceramics). Opti-seal makes the wheels easy to clean, but it doesn't prevent dust from building up, so I'm curious if ceramic actually keeps the brake dust off the wheels.
It won't keep the brake dust off. Maybe ever so slightly but the benefit is that most of it will come off with just a power washer and it won't stick to the rim as much. This is pretty important because of all the heat that is generated in that area. Unless you clean your wheels regularly the brake dust will begin to bake into the wheel surface. Ceramic coating helps prevent that.
