My 2004 996TT has been in the repair shop for many months now awaiting a final part which is the right passenger door from a accident (cosmetic / non-structural) that the other drivers insurance is 100% covering since they were at fault.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello - hoping the forum could help here... My 2004 996TT has been in the repair shop for many months now awaiting a final part which is the right passenger door from a accident (cosmetic / non-structural) that the other drivers insurance is 100% covering since they were at fault. The specific part number on the repair order is 99655512209ETC (Description: Leather W/10 Speaker System, Black, Turbo, Black) which we ordered 7 month ago via a Porsche dealer who ordered direct from Porsche Germany but unfortunately we're now told Germany cant provide this new right door and we need to get it elsewhere which I'm not happy about but its unfortunately our only option. I would be so grateful if any members on the forum had suggestions on other options to source a new part for this OR source a good condition used one? The shop is searching through all their sources plus others like LKQ, eBay, auctions etc and I wanted to take a shot here to see if the forum members may either have a door they wanted to sell or could put me in touch with any parties who may have one? Here's the part number: https://shop.porscheusa.com/2003-por...item/?mid_data The car is essentially done and looks amazing and like brand new, but just need this right door unfortunately..... 2004 996 Turbo freshly repainted 2004 996 TT 2004 996 Right Passenger Door Trim in "Natural Leather Grey" which to me looks like Black with a gray bottom highlight

No I'm in the US but I'll look into Reiger Racing. thank you!

POST 8Original post

You just need the interior door panel? Here are a couple ebay results with that part number: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...2209&_osacat=0

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 18296354

thanks for sending that ebay search which i saw some of those listings. yes i just need the door panel. mine is apparently "natural leather grey" per my original sticker description and photo above that translates to a black leather upper portion with the bottom trim in grey carpet which I'm still searching for..... I'm sure I'll come across one hopefully soon as thats the last part to get my car back

POST 10Original post

Why not buy the black one and get your car back until the correct one can be found. It takes less then an hour to swap out.

Do you have deviated carpets? Is that the issue? I'd look at a couple additional options: 1.) Rose Passion in France. https://www.rosepassion.com/en They sourced a Natural Brown GT3 Console delete kit for me which was unobtanium in the US (pre-Covid, even). 2.) Buy a gray one and have it dyed whatever color you need. I know you may cringe, but what can be done with dye is pretty remarkable these days. Per my interior guy, gray also is one of the better bases for dying to a different color.

3). Have some one repair the airbag cover as that looks like all that is wrong. Frank at Exclusive Option can do wonders with leather. https://exclusiveoption.com

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 18296588

I was going to say this. It looks like that leather just needs to be stitched back together. any upholstery shop could do that. then you're just missing the cubby lid and the handle cover.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 18296588

thats a great suggestion actually which we're looking into! Either that or we would need to go the route you suggested of buying a new door and having it dyed. Or maybe I buy a black door and dye the driver side door grey carpet to black??

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks so much I'll check them out! We have the door cubby and other parts which were carbon fiber and they removed them thinking we would get the new door trim piece. Those parts all are fine and maybe Exclusiveoption can repair the airbag pocket and we go that route... thanks again!
