I just checked airline rates from Midway to Dallas.

Not an early build, but it did check off a lot of boxes.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. I've been looking for an early build 996, but in a cab tiptronic, which makes it something of a unicorn. I did find one in Indiana, 67k miles with a freshly rebuilt engine (with a slow main seal oil leak), but it wasn't rebuilt by a Porsche mechanic. I'm having a PPI done Monday, and at $21k it's well inside my budget to allow for post purchase issues to address. And then I just saw this early build 996 cab, tip:

But I'm seeing mixed reviews on the dealer. This 996 has 25k miles, and is listed for $32k (153 days on market). I much prefer the beige interior, and $30k isn't outside my budget and it seems to have more options that I'd like and would be paying to add to the other. Has anyone had any dealings with the Dallas Auto Center on Commander Drive?
looks legit to me. they have a website, if you go the website, the car is there, and there is a free Carfax. the carfax shows the car listed for sale by dallas auto center in late february. even honest car dealers get bad reviews it comes with the territory.
Do your research that dealer has come up a few times over the last couple of years and its never been good. Hopefully someone with first hand experience can help.
I saw that and that's what concerned me, and why I posted my question here. I also ran the VIN and it comes back saying this is a manual, and the interior images are clearly of an auto. They did a nice job with the glamor shots, but still...
So I looked again. Yeah, after a second look they really are soft focus "glamor" images. I think I've been looking at too many Craig'sList and facebook marketplace ads. I would think for top dollar they'd offer more images. I suppose I can/should ask for more and better images, but I'm just trying to get a feel for their rep, to know if any Rennlisters have ever heard of, or worked with, this group.
MY99, early build? Of the 40 or so '99 early builds in the Rennlist registry, two are cabs, and one of them is a tip. I think BaT has sold one early build '99 cab tips in the last 16 months.
Depending where you are, it may be well worth your while to go and check out the dealer and the car in person. IMHO, buying a used car (maybe even a new one - some have body work done at POE due to in-transit damage) is rather risky. Seeing the car, engaging the dealer in person, checking out their operations, and witnessing a PPI done in your presence can help toward a pleasurable ownership with minimum to no post-purchase remorse.
