I have owned the car, a 2000 C4 Cab for about 2 months and drove it the other day putting the top down before setting off like I've done numerous times before.

Well it was bound to happen, now on to a fix. Have searched multiple forums but haven't found any fixes. I have owned the car, a 2000 C4 Cab for about 2 months and drove it the other day putting the top down before setting off like I've done numerous times before. When I returned home and went to raise the top, nothing but the dreaded flashing top light on the dash. Well crap this isn't good. I checked the hand brake, firmly on. Reset the hand brake, still nothing. Drove around again in desperation, perhaps to jiggle whatever might need jiggling. Still nothing when I returned. Perhaps the switch by the hand brake but the hand brake light on the dash is working, I think it controls both? Read that I could raise the top by using the key in the door, turning counterclockwise and holding. This supposedly bypasses the hand brake switch. Nothing. So I'm at a loss. The top has shown no sign of any issues. No weird sounds, no jerky movements when raised or lowered. When I push the switch on the dash I hear nothing either Anyone have any idea"s? Thanks, Tad

I don't know whether to be excited, or embarrassed, probably a little of both. Continuing to research the problem, I saw where the trunk lid has to be closed for the top to operate. Well, it wasn't and when I shut it the top started working. Cheapest fix I'll probably ever do. Carry on...

I�ve had a few scares like this before. I say scare because it�s like, �oh great, something complicated as expensive just broke.� I couldn�t get my interior lights to shut off and then I found out the passenger door was not fully closed.
