Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
My biggest remaining issue is the brake pedal height.
Leading evidence: 'brake pedal height' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'brake pedal height' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust gas pedal instead' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I made one to test with of a piece of wood to try for size and it's still in one of my cars.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm trying to find out if the brake pedal on the 996 is adjustable. I have small feet and am finding heel-toe nearly impossible because of the height difference. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!
only the turbos are adjustable I believe. heal toeing in the 996 is pretty easy one you get used to the pedal gaps. You're probably either not doing it right, or if your feet are that smalll get some pedals I hear they help for people that have trouble
Heel & Toe durring street driving is more difficult durring street driving is more difficult because you are not on the brakes HARD, and the foot has to be rolled over more under a lighter brake application.
In performance situations with Hard braking the pedals are in perfect alignment.
To my knowledge no Porsche has adjustable pedals
Adjusting the pushrod length changes the position of the brake pedal. To do this, undo the lock nut and turn the pushrod accordingly at the hexagon (arrow).
The factory height setting is 45 +5 mm. The measurement is performed between the center of the brake pedal plate and the accelerator. Also, check adjustment of the brake light switch if brake pushrod is adjusted.
It's a way to describe the nominal value (45mm) and an allowable tolerance (+5mm).
So you aim for 45mm and anything between 45 and 50 is OK. More than 50 is not OK, less than 45 is not OK either.
Any update on how this went? Im tall and am just on the border of fitting comfortably in the car. I removed the foam / styrofoam backing from the rear bulkhead fabric behind the drivers seat and that gave me an extra inch or room. My biggest remaining issue is the brake pedal height. I have to lift by knee quite a bit going from the gas to brake and it hits the bottom of the steering wheel. Getting the brake pedal height closer to the gas pedal would be a game changer in terms of comfort. Also, is there any concern about the safety of this mod or the risk of the brakes always being slightly engaged as a result?
Adjust the gas pedal instead. Wings third foot or other accelerator pedal shim works for me. I made one to test with of a piece of wood to try for size and it's still in one of my cars.
I have the rennline adjustable gas pedal and I find heel-toe (or more accurately left side/right side of my size 13 feet) to be very easy. I also have a smaller steering wheel and a console delete.
