Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I saw the posted speed limit of 40 and checked my cluster "65" and then immediately the surroundings and rear view mirrors for any bear traps.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As soon as I started her up I began hearing screams of excitement from my boys (3 & 5). While she warmed up a bit I got them on their boosters and buckeled them up. We're heading out for a canyon run, then breakfast. The destination was Angeles Crest Highway. As soon as I got on it, finally after much anticipation, I began to introduce her to higher revs and she rewarded me with a nice push from behind as if to say: "Thank you! Here you go, enjoy!" When I started to hit the initial curves, I saw a 4-Runner out front and while it was rolling around taking the turns my 996 smoothly entered and exited like a hot knife cutting through butter. I must say that at first i was a bit uneasy and as time went by i regained my confidence refamiliarizing with her ability. I saw the posted speed limit of 40 and checked my cluster "65" and then immediately the surroundings and rear view mirrors for any bear traps. Then for the next 20 miles out or so it was just listenng to the beauful sound of the flat six, sharp steering feedback, nice planted feeling, and oh yeah the push from the back. On the way back I saw 4 other Porsche owners (2 991 Turbos, a 997, and a 996 MK1 Aero) all up to the same ritual. Then we got to the FWY and all I can say is nothing sounds better than a flat six at 5500RPM with a Bach solo piano concerto in the background.
