Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

If you remove the MAF from the airbox, yes you should put it in a safe and clean place.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261027T073501Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just curious...what do you all do when you pull your MAF to take out air box? Where do you put the MAF?

POST 2Original post

It just kind of hangs off to the side...every now and then I would forget to put it back on and immediately throw a CEL when I was done working on it.

POST 3Original post

Are you asking how to access it? Or are you asking how to maintain and clean it?

No asking what you do with it so it doesn't get dirty when you take it out...put it in a plastic Baggie and off to side or just let it lay off to side?

Depending on what I'm doing, I either leave it in the air box or take it out and put it aside. I just hose it down with MAF cleaner before putting it back in.

POST 6Original post

To remove the airbox, you just need to unplug the MAF. The MAF stays with the airbox. If you remove the MAF from the airbox, yes you should put it in a safe and clean place. A plastic bag should do.

I tried that but was worried I was going to break something!

Press on circled area on the plug (it's on the side you can't see). Once you hear a click, pull it off

There's a tab at the back of the connector that you have to depress really hard while you wiggle the connector to disconnect it. You will be able to see the tab using an inspection mirror. It should be obvious once you see it. My finger hurts now just by thinking about it...
