Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Very questionable solutions can be found even from "bulk tunes" made by quite large names in industry and installed widely by subcontractors.
Leading evidence: 'Install widely by subcontractors' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust ecu settings and reflash the ecu maps myself' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If it's a place without any logging/dyno checking the actual car after installation and fine tuning b/c of findings, drive away.

(Yes, I know what Im doing 😊 No, Im not looking for recommendations on who can do it for me; my other alternative would be to replace the ECU with a Syvecs S7 Plus or AEM Infinity, but Id prefer just reflashing the existing ECU at these levels)

Those cars behaved quite amusingly...for example one Audi lit all warnings and cautions the instrument panel has plus set cooling fans to full when ignition was turned on.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
Is there any software available (commercial or otherwise) to be able to adjust ECU settings and reflash the ECU maps myself? (Fuel/ignition timing)
I bought a Porsche 911 Turbo 996 a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. However, I want to go through the tune. I already have a Durametric cable (enthusiast) with logging capabilities. I dont mind working with CSV files or other formats if needed, as long as I have some software to rely on for pulling the existing maps and actually flashing the ECU. Ive searched the forums but cant find much.
Any and all suggestions appreciated!
Thank you!

You can use a Galletto 1260 to get the stock DME .bin file dump, and then use it to reflash it back once you modify it.
You can use WinOls to find and modify the tables you want. This is expert level stuff , so, I'm not not an expert on this, but if you are, then you can do it with these..
Galletto / MPPS clone / orsimilar, tools are available. Galletto / WinOLS for massaging the maps.
But, a HUGE BUT, if you really aren't 100% sure what you're doing, or have eg incorrect checksums for the file to be loaded, the possibility to brick the ECU is significant. In that case even booting it in bench mode with an official tool by a pro tuner may not be able to save you. OTH, finding correct maps for tuning is a task of it's own. Depending on generation, a Motronic has from hundreds to up to tens of thousands of individual maps. A tune can be done in many ways, but only few ones are acceptable. Very questionable solutions can be found even from "bulk tunes" made by quite large names in industry and installed widely by subcontractors. (Caveat: this in Europe and I do not want to start a p*ssing contest or a war by dropping names). Just be careful when choosing a tuner. If it's a place without any logging/dyno checking the actual car after installation and fine tuning b/c of findings, drive away.
I've done few "back to stocks" after an amateur tuning attempt with cloned tools. Those cars behaved quite amusingly...for example one Audi lit all warnings and cautions the instrument panel has plus set cooling fans to full when ignition was turned on.
Needless to say that in these cases a pro can charge almost whatever he/she likes for curing the ECU. =)
If you have a Turbo try posting in the Turbo forum. There are several experts with 20 years tuning experiences with the ME7.8 DME.

I have tuned 8-bit ECU's in the past with decent success. I tried a 16-bit ECU and found I didn't have the time to learn it well enough. I can't imagine a 32 bit ECU will be any easier.
