I have 2K miles on the present oil change, will probably do this install and oil change after I take it out of storage in the spring.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

LN spin on adaptor, magnetic drain plug, plus the big spend of 5, yes 5, crush washers. I hope it came with a filter otherwise that's going to be another $10 down the hole.
And I drank the cool-aide and bought a case of Joe Gibbs oil.
I have 2K miles on the present oil change, will probably do this install and oil change after I take it out of storage in the spring. It hasn't gone into storage just yet.
Can you PLEASE stop spending my money?
if you don't want cross-mixed oil, then do the flush
not a big deal on an older engine. It just means that if you do a UOA, then the results may be skewed a little with a a little of the old oil until the next oil change when you will have "pure" oil
on a newly rebuilt or reconditioned engine, the break-in oil is
I just did the dt40 upgrade with ln spin on, mag plug and and 8 (Yes thats right 8) crush washers. Put them all on, it runs great, gained 4 hp.
.
Actually, the dt40 realy quieted down my 135K motor. It had some on and off lifter tick tick noises when it was hot, now 2K later all has been quiet. No break in oil, that would be silly on my old girl.
I did the same this spring except only bought one washer. Do not know what I would do with the others if the IMS fails before the next oil change!
You know you now need to invest in an oil filter cutter. I got mine and tested it out on my Passat.

Yea....have a few other goodies that I bought also that I have kept to myself, you know how hard that is for me to do!
Just made plans for our annual ski trip, this year is again in Utah, we have been spoiled with snow there the last few years, POWDER!
I knew a guy that used to pull the spark plugs during oil chanage......you know....so the oil drains fully from the engine. This was on a Chrysler K car.
I can underetand the need to chage the oil soon after major work like a rebuild but to use break in oil between switching brands is a bit bizare to me.
Just a fore warning......watch out for the washer *****....or **** washers...tahmatah toematah...

And I thought some of our posts were going off into the abyss.....
Sorry Mr Waterloo for the interlude.
Yeah you're preaching to the choir. There's a lot of things bizarre on RL but I just roll with it. I know the long time members can sense my sarcasm most of the time but not so sure about the new guys that really don't know me.
