Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First 6000 on the new to me 996 C2 decided it might be time for a lil love to the car that has brought spring back into my step as I head to the garage. Drained and changed filter. Checked all accessible parts around the front and rear looking for any loose items. Cut filter open and nothing found. What about the panels under the car? Anything under there that needs a good look over?

POST 2Original post

Being in florida, did you clean out your radiators yet? Also don't be surprised if you take an underbody panel off and find seaweed or dead fish.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmmm might just be that funky fishy odor my rear view mirror scent freshener hasn't over come. 👍

POST 4Original post

If your going to mess with the panels much, keep spare plastic nuts and the metal clips on hand. Their cheap enough that you can keep plenty of spares. If your pulling the underbody panels on a regular basis they will break. Lost count of how many times mine were off and on.

POST 5Original post

Don't forget to check your brake pads, length of time on the brake fluid (24 month bleeding interval), engine air and cabin air filters. I find that my cabin air filter is pretty disgusting after only 18 months or so. Might be related to a bad cabin odor.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Took a mini vacation to put up the lights and tree, looks like there are a couple of other things on my list now. Did not think of the cabin filter!
